Location
Among the pensioni of Venice, the Residenza Goldoni is situated in the heart of the city, just steps from the Ponte di Rialto, 300 m from the landing, arrival point for the vaporetti from Piazzale Roma, the railroad station and Tronchetto.
From here you can reach the Residenza without encountering a single bridge, an uncommon feature among the accommodations of Venice. For centuries the Rialto area has been the location of the picturesque Fish Market and the lively Fruit and Vegetable Market.
It's a short walk to the Piazza San Marco where visitors can admire the treasures of the Basilica Marcianaand the magnificent rooms of the Doge's Palace, or sip the famous bicerìn of the Caffè Florian in the shadow of Saint Mark's steeple, or "Paron de Casa" (the lord of the house), as Venetians call it.
A few meters from the pensione stands the Church of San Salvador, with its magnificent Renaissance interior, and home to many masterpieces, including the Transfiguration of Titian, hanging on the main altar, as well as his famous Annunciation.
Near the Church you'll find the Telecom Italia Future Centre, location of large exhibits relating to the art and technology of communication.
A short walk will bring you to some of the most important centers of Venice's musical and cultural panorama: the Goldoni Theater offers major theatrical performances, including the works of the famous playwright Carlo Goldoni; the Malibran Theater, a tiny 18th Century jewel that organizes the season of chamber music in Venice.
How to reach us
From the Santa Lucia Railway Station and from Piazzale Roma
By private water Taxi to Campo della Fava. After crossing the small bridge, you'll find the Residenza Goldoni a few meters to the left. We advise you to settle the price before embarking and to check that the taxi is authorized (you can tell by the yellow stripe and license number painted on the sides of the boat).
With the VAPORETTO (public transportation service) 82 stop Rialto. Take Calle Larga Mazzini and go straight on Mercerie San Salvador, then turn onto Calle Stagneri. Go straight for a few meters until you see the Residenza Goldoni on your right. Those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Canal at leisure can take line1, Rialto stop then continue as above.
From the Tronchetto (Car Terminal)
With VAPORETTO (public transportation system) line82 (towards Rialto), along the Grand Canal to stop Rialto. From the landing, continue as above.
From Marco Polo Airport (Venice)

By shuttle bus ATVO o ACTV to Piazzale Roma and then by Vaporetto line 82 or 1 Rialto stop . From the Rialto landing take Calle Larga Mazzini e continue straight on Mercerie San Salvador (alongside the church of the same name) then turn onto Calle Stagneri. Go straight for a few meters and you'll see the Residenza Goldoni on your right.
With the water shuttle ALILAGUNA which departs from the Airport pier and reaches San Zaccaria in about 1 hour. From here take line 1 or 82 via the Grand Canal. Stop Rialto. From the landing continue as above.
From Canova Airport (Treviso)
A shuttle service connects Treviso Airport with Piazzale Roma-Venice in conjunction with major flights. From Piazzale Roma you can take theVAPORETTO (public transportaton service) line 82 along the Grand Canal, Rialto stop. Those who wish to enjoy the beauty of the Grand Canal at leisure can take line1, Rialto stop then continue as above.
